Version:
Which edition these terms cover
SaltMark has two editions: Store, distributed through the Mac App Store, and Direct, distributed outside it. These terms cover only Direct Signature purchases and SaltMark's associated license delivery and recovery service. They do not govern purchases made through Apple's App Store.
Store purchases use Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple's applicable purchase terms and the app's applicable EULA govern their respective subjects. These Direct Terms do not replace that EULA. Restore Store purchases inside the Store edition and use Apple's refund request process. Direct key recovery does not restore an Apple purchase, and Direct key-sharing rules do not define Apple Family Sharing rights. SaltMark remains responsible for its product support and applicable developer obligations.
Operator and contact
SaltMark is developed and operated by Vitali Rijenco. Contact support@saltmark.xyz about SaltMark purchase/refund problems, activation/recovery, application faults, security or privacy concerns, personal-data rights, or these Direct purchase terms. You may also send SaltMark feedback or feature requests. General consulting and help with unrelated products are outside this channel.
Signature and supporting development
Core bookmark, vault and security features are available without buying Signature. The covered source code is available under the Apache License 2.0. Signature is an optional, one-time purchase that supports the author's work and unlocks additional appearance features in the official Direct app: accent colors, vibrant surfaces, decorative technical shapes and soft-blur bookmark selection. This is a purchase, not a donation or subscription. The offer identifies the product, generation, compatibility requirements and total price before payment.
Devices and private family sharing
One successful purchase provides one Signature key. You may use it on multiple compatible devices and privately share it with your family at your discretion. Keep it private. You must not publish your license key, make it publicly accessible, or distribute it on a mass basis, by any means. These restrictions concern the issued key; they do not restrict your rights under the open-source license.
Duration and updates
The key does not expire for the purchased product generation. A generation means a major version: generation 1 covers updates in the 1.x series. Store and Direct are editions, not generations. Later-generation compatibility may be offered but is not included unless expressly stated for your purchase.
The author develops updates as time and resources permit. No release schedule, particular new feature or future major version is promised. Mandatory conformity, security-update and remedy obligations remain. A perpetual key does not promise compatibility with every future operating system or perpetual operation of online recovery.
Checkout and payment
Before payment we identify the seller and payment provider, their roles, applicable buyer terms and privacy notices, and the invoice, tax and refund arrangements for that purchase. A service may be a reseller and merchant of record or a processor acting for the identified seller. SaltMark supplies the product, key delivery and product support.
Signature is delivered as a digital license key. Purchase availability depends on the territories and payment methods supported by the seller and payment provider for that transaction, their eligibility checks, and applicable legal restrictions. The currency, taxes and final charge are shown before payment. Repeated purchases produce separate keys; another purchase is not needed to use your key on another permitted device.
Applicable law and payment terms
Mandatory provisions of applicable law prevail. The seller's and payment provider's buyer terms identified before payment govern checkout, payment processing, invoicing and refunds. If those terms conflict with these Terms on those matters, the applicable seller or payment-provider terms prevail to the extent permitted by law. SaltMark remains responsible for its product commitments and obligations. This does not limit mandatory consumer rights or make SaltMark's privacy responsibilities conditional on a provider's policy.
Key delivery and recovery
Once sales open and payment is verified, the return page can display the key in a temporary browser session. Save a private copy. If delivery is delayed, use recovery or contact us rather than purchasing again for the same key.
Recovery at licenses.saltmark.xyz/recover verifies access to the purchase email. Codes and links expire after ten minutes; successful verification grants a one-hour session and can check additional eligible purchases. Recovery depends on mailbox access, retained records and service availability. Refund/dispute review may require assistance before key delivery.
If the records needed for key recovery are deleted, the service cannot restore that key. Save it first. Deletion does not disable a saved offline key; preserving your copy becomes your responsibility. The Direct privacy notice explains SaltMark's processing and requests. For separately controlled seller/payment records, use the notice supplied for your purchase. A request to one controller does not automatically delete the other's records.
Refunds and payment disputes
We honor refund rights under applicable law and the purchase terms disclosed before payment. Refunds are processed through the seller or payment provider that handled your purchase, under its applicable procedures. The purchase disclosure and receipt identify the request route. Contact support@saltmark.xyz if you need help identifying it. We handle requests and cooperate where our contractual or legal responsibilities require it.
Eligibility deadlines and processing times follow applicable law, disclosed purchase terms and payment procedures. These terms offer no additional unconditional refund period. Buying Signature does not waive mandatory consumer rights. Keys work offline; remote technical revocation after a refund is not promised. Continuing entitlement follows applicable refund terms without narrowing rights independently granted under Apache-2.0.
Source code, branding and responsibility
Apache License 2.0 governs the covered source code and documentation. Third-party components retain their own licenses. Branding and excluded artwork have the separate terms identified in the repository notices. These Terms do not withdraw or narrow open-source rights.
Keep copies of your vault and key. SaltMark cannot recover a lost vault password or decrypt your vault for you. We do not promise an individual reply to every suggestion, a feature implementation or a fixed general support response time. Nothing here excludes mandatory liability, remedies or deadlines for personal-data requests.
Changes
Revised terms carry an updated version date. Changes will not retroactively reduce the perpetual generation entitlement promised for an existing purchase. Adding or changing a payment provider for future sales does not by itself change the seller or terms of an earlier purchase. Keep your receipt and purchase information. Material changes to ongoing services will be communicated as applicable law requires.
